Enjoy the sounds of brass, organ, piano, and voices, as the Clearfield Choral Society literally “sounds the trumpet” to herald the coming of the Christmas holiday.
Our program will feature fresh arrangements of popular carols, standard settings of old German and Latin classics, and special “Christmas Card carols” which were written in the 1940s and 1950s by American composers Alfred Burt and Sven Lekberg as Christmas messages to be sent as their Christmas cards to their family and friends. Lekberg, in addition, would present his yearly Christmas messages at his Christmas parties, where he, his wife, and his guests would gather around the piano and sing the new composition together.
Now, the Clearfield Choral Society brings these Christmas greetings to you, joining them with greetings, carols, and hymn tunes used to welcome the holiday throughout history.
